About this Event
Beaujolais Nouveau is different to almost every other French wine, where it is drunk immediately after harvesting (barrels are rolled through the streets to shops), is a more approachable and affordable offering, and doesn't take itself too seriously. It is an easier drinking wine meant to celebrated and shared with friends. On November 21, we will rejoice over the new 2024 Beaujolais and toast with new friends and old at the Bird's Nest. Participants will enjoy a guided tasting experience through five French wines, including the 2024 Beaujolais Nouveau release.
Collette Beaujolais Blanc 2022
Domaine de Colette is located in the heart of the Crus du Beaujolais, in the charming village of Lantignié, regarded as the premium village in the cru of Regnié. Run by the humble Jacky Gauthier, it was founded by his father René. A delicately balanced wine from 100% Chardonnay grapes. Attractive floral, honeysuckle and lime tree aromas, with ripe citrus freshness on the finish.
Collette Beaujolais-Villages 2023
Domaine de la Madone Beaujolais-Village Nouveau le Perreon 2024
Aromas of raspberries, cherry blossoms, and minerals, with flavors of red berries and baking spices. 100% Gamay.
Hoppenot Fleurie Les Moriers 2021
Gregoire Hoppenot is known for his perfectionism, and the quality of his wines shows it. Deep nose with notes of peony and cherry in syrup, supple and rich palate with fine tannins in this lovely red wine with 100% Gamay from the Beaujolais region.
Hoppenot Fleurie Clos de l'Amandier 2021
In the winery, Hoppenot honors the truest expressions of his terroirs. All clusters are fermented whole, fermentations are allowed to commence naturally by native yeast (living in the winery), and no sulfur is added. Winemaking decisions are made by careful consideration of each plot and progressive tastings. Try Gregoire Hoppenot's beautiful expression of Gamay in this wine.
