Beats & Words is a monthly poetry open mic with a full backing band. This month we have the incredible Claire Conroy featuring and reading from her new book. Claire Conroy is a board member of the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Program and involved with the National Beat Poetry Foundation. She has performed spoken word backed by many musicians and by the dance troupe, Sisters Phoenix. Claire has self-published two books of poetry titled “Listen” and “Silent”, has had select poems translated into Hindi by Devesh Path Sariya, and has been published in a dozen anthologies. She lives in Sanford, Maine, and will be the featured reader at PoetFest in St Augustine, Florida, April 11th-13th. Claire will be sharing her new chapbook, “Rumors from Dead Lips,” during her segment, “Music & the Muse.”
