About this Event

We’ll get an early start at Howe-Homestead Park, the little gem of a park in Walnut Creek, and follow the Kovar Trail into Shell Ridge Open Space, where we’ll watch the morning become day. The hike transitions from a narrow green corridor in the suburbs to the expanses of Mt Diablo foothills. This lollipop hike is about three miles long with mostly gentle grades. Parking and bathrooms are available at Howe-Homestead. Be sure to dress in layers and wear sturdy boots or shoes; bring plenty of water, and a snack.
