The Old Library, Bodmin, PL31 2JX
Friday 17th October 2025
Headliner: Kate Cheka @katecheka
Kate Cheka is an artist whose primary creative medium is human emotion, either trying to make people laugh (comedy), think (philosophical musings) or feel (storytelling). She has travelled extensively, studied in four different countries and performed stand-up in over ten. Born in London she grew up in the West Country and has lived in Berlin and Buenos Aires as well as Delhi and Dar es Salaam. Her primary focus is always the human lived experience, the best art walks with you through life, reflecting back our intimate feelings as well as (hopefully) providing inspirational impetus for revolutionary acts.
She began comedy in Berlin where she organised and hosted two shows, a femme-identifying open mic and a women of colour showcase. The Funny Women Award winner of 2023, she was also a Chortle Best Newcomer nominee 2024, a BBC New Comedy Awards regional finalist 2022, a finalist at the Berlin New Stand-up Award in 2019 and BBC Radio 4 Introducing New Comedy Award 2019 nominee as well as Funny Women semi-finalist in both 2021 and 2022. Described as having ‘stylish comedy delivered with a great blend of joy and disdain’ she started comedy to spite an ex who once said ‘I thought you were more fun’.
‘Kate is a multi-talented comic, with plenty up her sleeve and a lot more to share’ – Zoe Paskett, Funny Women Review
Opener: David Hoare @davidhoarelol
David Hoare is a one-liner-musical-comedian; mixing silly, staccato songs with idiotic mischievousness! Winner of the Audience Favourite Prize at the Musical Comedy Awards 2021.
"An annoyingly funny young man" Gary Delaney.
“With some slick one-liners and aggression akin to Bo Burnham, James Acaster or Tim Vine” Deadline News.

Eliza Fraser @minilyzer
High energy hilarity and one to watch!
Gee
Exciting new act on the Cornish scene who stumbled to Bodmin from Brighton!
Host: Mimi @mimicomedyditties
Mimi is your 'local gal' host for the evening! Mimi won Cornwall Comedian of the Year 2022 on her 3rd gig after signing up to tick stand up off her bucket list. She decided she likes making people smile and so carried on doing it after that too! She is often seen armed with a ukulele and a silly song or two.
