Title: Beans - “The poor man’s jewels”
This class is all about beans - the history and varieties of beans, some of the people who are responsible for many of the varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris that exist today, and one woman’s discovery that she didn’t know beans.
Tina has a BS in Chemistry (Oakland University, 1998). She is a former 4-H member, has taken the PHysicians Committee for Responsible Medicine class on fighting COVID-19 with food, Foraging 101 with Rachel Mifsud, and has been a member of Seed Savers Exchange for over 10 years. She grew up on her grandfather’s farm in Lenox Township and comes from a long line of Macomb County farmers. Tina currently lives with her husband, Bill, on their acre in Ray Township with their two boys, dog and chickens, and of course, her beans.
