Participants will explore their creativity by painting a beautiful spring valley scene bursting with vibrant flowers. They will learn how to paint simple trees and fields of flowers while being guided to make the artwork uniquely their own. Although Carol generally paints with thinner layers, she will demonstrate various techniques for adding texture, allowing each participant to develop their preferred style. This class is about having fun and expressing creativity in a relaxed environment.All Supplies Provided!
Carol will provide personal guidance throughout the class, ensuring that everyone feels supported as they create their own special Smoky Mountain landscape. Participants will also learn new techniques they can apply to future projects. While the sample image is painted in watercolor, this class will use acrylics, giving attendees the option to explore even bolder colors.
Supply List:
All supplies are included, including an 11×14 canvas for each participant. Those who prefer to use their own materials are welcome to bring them along.
Prerequisites:
Some painting experience is helpful but not required. Even if a participant’s only experience is from a casual class like Painting with a Twist, they will be able to follow along and enjoy the creative process. Carol will be available to help whenever needed, ensuring that all participants feel comfortable and confident.
About the Artist:
Tennessee artist Carol Robin King was born and raised in Argentina, where her passion for drawing emerged at the age of 3. By 13, she progressed to painting with oils and acrylics. Carol pursued three years of professional art education in Argentina and continues to refine her skills through workshops and online classes.
Art has always been a central part of Carol’s life. As a child, she made extra money by selling her artwork and continued to paint portraits throughout college. Over the past 30 years, Carol has taught art classes to children, teens, and adults, sharing her love for painting with students of all ages.
Currently, Carol records online watercolor lessons on YouTube, teaches acrylic classes, and works at Studio 106 inside the Emporium in downtown Knoxville’s art district. Her work is also featured at Pivot Point Gallery in Knoxville. Visitors are welcome to explore her creations at these locations!
