Join us in Clondalkin Library for a cup of tea and an informative talk with nurses from The Marie Keating Foundation.
In this talk Attendees will learn about:
- risk factors for cancer in general and especially the risk factors for breast cancer.
- learn how to check their breasts for changes, when to check their breasts and what changes to look and feel for.
- risk factors, diagnosis and treatments for breast cancer. This will be supported with a video on how to check your breast.
- cervical cancer, what causes cervical cancer, what are the risk factors, symptoms and treatment for cervical cancer.
- HPV and the HPV vaccine and information will be provided about the new HPV cervical screening programme, which replaced the smear in March 2020.
- symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer and information about the BRCA gene. Screening programmes for breast and cervical cancer will be discussed.
