Mardi Gras 20262/12/26 - 2/18/26
First great parade is Krewe of Muses on Thursday 2/12 at 6:30 pm.
If you can't make it Thursday night join us Friday 2/13, stay through Fat Tuesday and immerse yourself in everything green, purple, gold and sequins. You will fall in love with the parades, food, beauty of the city and the people.
Things to know -
Fee - $125 nonrefundable coordination fee
Parking - All lots have fees, during Mardi Gras there is no free parking near the parade routes or hotels.
Flying in - Cab/Uber to hotel, this avoids the parking fees and everything is walkable. I do have a cabbie I can add later.
Driving - Allow extra money for parking, bring lawn chairs and wagons for parade days. Beads are heavy and you want to be able to sit comfortably while waiting for the parade to start. Chairs will also help hold your spot, this is super important.
Shoes - Wear comfy shoes, you will be walking, a lot. No one is looking at your shoes unless you are going to one of the Balls.
Clothes - Weather dependent, purple, gold, green, anything shiny, costumes for parades if you want, There are people everywhere, you will get bumped, stepped on accidentally, bring clothes that are comfortable.
