About this Event
Have fun with fire in this entry level course! In this two day session, students will learn the fundamentals of flameworking by creating one of a kind glass beads. Various color application and shaping techniques will be introduced to give beginners a solid foundation working with soft glass. We will also talk about concepts like annealing, jewelry construction, setting up a studio, and more! Each student will leave the workshop with their own glass bead creations.
What to expect: Flameworking with soft glass requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful sculptures. After demonstrations, expect to make between 2 - 6 successful objects in this class, and a couple failures, while gaining confidence and skill in the studio. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
