🪶 New Event! Beading Beauties — Monthly Beadwork CircleThe Kittitas County Historical Museum, in partnership with the Ellensburg School District Ichiskíin Sɨ́nwit ku Tiináwit Payúutmita (ESD Ichiskíin Language and Native American Culture Program), is excited to launch Beading Beauties — a new monthly gathering celebrating the art, history, and creativity of beadwork. Beginning Monday, October 27, and continuing every 4th Monday from 6–8 PM, this circle offers a welcoming space for creativity and connection.
Beadwork has deep roots across the Columbia Plateau, where Indigenous peoples — including the Yakama, Umatilla, Klickitat, Nez Perce, K’tɨ́taas, and Pshwánapam — have long used intricate designs to share stories, identity, and community. That tradition continues today, reflected in the artistry and expression of beaders and makers everywhere.
All skill levels are welcome to bring their projects, share techniques, and enjoy an evening of creativity and community.
