About this Event
Beacons Business Nework - Christmas Amble
There will be mincepies...
The Sugar Loaf.
It's not a volcano, and it's not actually classed as a mountain (4 meters short). Never the less.... the views from the summit are amazing; they cover the Black Mountains to the north, the Cotswolds to the east, as far as the Brecon Beacons (including Pen y Fan and Corn Du) to the west and the Bristol Channel to the south.
The Skirrid is easily visible to the immediate east, including its spectacular landslip at its northern end. On a clear day it is possible to see hills as far north as Shropshire and as far south as Somerset.
If that's piqued your interest, join us for a great walk with a great group of professionals. A slow and steady pace with lots of chatting and getting to know one another. We will be taking the easiest route up, but still recommend suitable outdoor clothing / footwear.
This is a netwalking event, with a focus on "all things business". As we chat, we will have the chance to take in some of the best views in Wales (and take lots of photos).
There's usually time for a drink and cake on the way home, where you can make sure you trade contact numbers without the heavy breathing....
Individuals are responsible for their own fitness assessment. It's not a race, but attendees will require the ability to walk uphill for around an hour (and back down).
Ty Hafan
Tŷ Hafan is one of Wales’ leading children’s hospices, providing vital care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. Their dedicated team supports families both within the hospice and in homes and communities across Wales, helping children live life to the fullest while offering dignified end-of-life and bereavement care when the time comes.
Support extends beyond the child — parents, siblings and wider family members receive personalised care that helps them find strength, make lasting memories and improve quality of life.
Their Ambition
Right now, around 90% of families in Wales caring for a child whose life will be short don’t receive the specialist support they need — something Tŷ Hafan is determined to change.
Their ambition is simple yet powerful: when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to face it alone.
Tŷ Hafan believes every family in Wales deserves expert care and compassion — through life, death and beyond — and they’re committed to making that a reality.
