The Next Chapter Books & Art will host a Beach Read Author Invitational on September 6 from 1-4 p.m. The afternoon will feature local authors Joni Dennis (The Sea of Destiny Series) , Adrienne Palma (The Sands of Roanoke Island), and Lynn Brazie (Under a Carolina Moon), as well as complimentary cookies and lemonade from the store’s temporary "surf shack", according to owner Michelle Garren-Flye, who says the afternoon is a great way to say goodbye to summer. “They say the sand washes off but the memories stick, and what better way to remember the beach than with a great book!”
