About this Event
Lowestoft Time Bank & the Marine Conservation Society Beach Clean, North Denes Beach Lowestoft.
Come join us for a day of community and conservation at North Denes Beach in Lowestoft. We're teaming up with the Marine Conservation Society to clean up the beach and protect our marine life. Meet us at Links Road carpark and make a difference for our environment. Let's work together to keep our beaches & oceans clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy!
We will record every item of litter we collect & send that data to the Marine Conservation Society for their research and campaigning. We survey the same stretch of beach 4 times a year, so if you can't make this date, you can join us in the autumn. At Lowestoft Time Bank we also run regular beach cleans, and beach related projects, check out our socials or website for more info.
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too. (we will have some gloves if you don't have any)
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
