Join The BEA Society for an interactive debate night exploring the conversations we don't always get to have - about culture, identity, and accountability within our communities. This isn't a panel and it's not about "winning". It's a guided, respectful space where students can share perspectives, challenge ideas, and listen openly. Whether you're confident speaking or prefer to observe, there's space for you.
What to expect:
Live, student-led debates
Anonymous questions
Audience participation
Networking with like-minded students
Free food and drinks
Debate topics will be chosen by students ahead of the event and will centre on themes such as identity, culture, and generational expectations.
No prior debate experience needed - just come as you are.
Spaces are limited to keep discussions meaningful.
No one is forced to speak but everyone will be given a chance to!
🩷For members, please add your student id when choosing your ticket🩷
Here are the debate questions:
1. Respect for elders has become a barrier for community
2. Silence in Black families is more harmful than conflict
3. Masculinity is Black culture is built on emotional suppression
