Be the Light: an art showMarch thru April, 2021.
First Friday's: March 5, 19th and April 2nd, 6-9 pm.
Featured Artists: Lynn Smith, Linda Pullinsi, Marissa Vidrio and Ellen Nemetz.
Light can be a metaphor for the positive and protective, a healing happiness or joy. Light illuminates and animates, radiates and reflects.
Amanda Gorman’s poem, “The Hill We Climb”, inspired our four woman show "Be the Light." In Ms. Gorman’s words, "... we went through so many challenges this year, we need a reminder to not just see the light, but to be brave enough to be it!"
Light is an integral component in each of these artists' works of art. Linda Pullinsi’s plein aire paintings beautifully showcase the amazing light, here in Arizona. In Lynn Smith’s paintings light animates color and reveals what is hidden. Ellen Nemetz focuses on how light changes in reflections on surfaces and how light affects the mood of the painting. Marissa Vidrio’s paintings focus on the light from within.
First Studio Gallery is located at 631 N. First Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
