As the Diocese focusses on prayer this Lent, Inverness Cathedral is offering a Lent Study on practices of prayer for four Tuesdays from 18th March 2025. Brian Heasley’s book Be Still: A simple guide to quiet time explores the idea of quiet intimacy with God; how scripture, imagination and contemplation can aid us to encounter God’s presence; and how prayer & stillness become the birthplace of mission & justice.
Session 1: God in the Stillness – Tuesday 18th March
Session 2: Stillness & Scripture – Tuesday 25th March
Session 3: Prayer & Wonder – Tuesday 1st April
Session 4: Mission from Prayer - Tuesday 8th April
We will study, discuss and explore the many ways Christians find to pray over these four Tuesdays in the Cathedral from 7-8.30pm. Copies of Be Still are available from the Cathedral Gift Shop.
