Be a Better Biker assessments allow all bikers who have passed their motorbike test to take their skills to a level that helps improve safety and enjoyment.The workshops cost £25 per biker, and are being held in various locations throughout Buckinghamshire and the Thames Valley.
About the workshop
The day covers the principles of advanced riding including:
-manoeuvring
-overtaking
-cornering techniques
-on-road assessment with observers, approximately 2 hours
-a review of the on-road sessions, discussing lessons learnt
At the end of the session each candidate will receive a copy of the book “How to Be a Better Rider” published by IAM Roadsmart.
Be a Better Biker is delivered by Thames Vale Advanced Motorcyclists (TVAM), Buckinghamshire Advanced Riders and Drivers (BARDS), Milton Keynes Advanced Motorcyclists (MKAM) and supported by Local Councils, Local Fire & Rescue Services and Thames Valley Police.
What you need to bring
You will need bring your motorbike with a full tank of petrol or at least 100 miles worth of fuel. You will also need to bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Book your place
There are 12 places available each day. Workshops will start at 09:30am for coffee and registration and will finish around 2:30pm.
