Join the BDC Senior Photo League!
A free photography workshop for older adults, led by experienced photographer Michael Young. Participants will learn hands-on photography and visual storytelling techniques, document their communities, and share their stories through images.
No prior experience is needed—cameras and all materials are provided.

Teaching Artist:
A Brooklyn-born street and documentary photographer based in the Bronx, Michael Young has been featured in The New York Times and Digital Photo Magazine and exhibited at the Bronx Documentary Center and Photoville. An educator and mentor, he also curates and contributes to Everyday Black America on Instagram.
Teaching Assistant:
Lea Ibragimov, a Jewish immigrant based in South Brooklyn, moved to New York at age eleven. Growing up in a multicultural household, Lea speaks Russian, Hebrew, and English, while also improving her Spanish and aspiring to learn more languages. A Speech Therapy and Linguistics major at Brooklyn College, Lea combines their passion for art and community through roles such as Peer Lead at Lion’s Tooth Project and as the first teen ambassador of Photoville, using photography to explore and share their intersecting identities. Lea is the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director at the BDC.
