Join us for a super fun, interactive workshop on la bande dessinée with cartoonist Alex A! This workshop is designed for 5-11 years old.Alliance Française of Washington, DC in partnership with the Embassy of France and the Québec Government Office in Washington invites you to participate in a fun, interactive workshop with a canadian cartoonist Alex A.
This workshop is designed for 5-11 years old and will be held in English . Prepare some pencils and a piece of paper if you would like to participate in the creative process.
This event is organized as part of the 2021 DC Francophonie Festival and is free. All registrants will receive a Zoom link a few days before the event.
About the cartoonist
Alex A. has always written and drawn. He came up with the character of Jon Le Bon when he was no older than the series’ fans are today. Over the years, he has surrounded his lovable anti-hero with colourful sidekicks and thrown them into outrageous situations to see what happens. In 2011, his dream came true: his secret agent’s adventures were finally published! L’Agent Jean! is a big hit and is adored by young readers in Quebec, France, Switzerland and Belgium. The series is also published in English Canada as Super Agent Jon Le Bon!
A prolific cartoonist, Alex A. has three series and more than twenty comic books to his name. His source of inspiration? Anything under the sun, and more importantly… his imagination! Alex A. lives in Montreal, with his dog, Wolfy. In his spare time he climbs, reads superhero comics and plays video games.

L'Alliance Française de Washington en partenariat avec l'Ambassade de France et le Bureau de Québec à Washington, vous invite à participer à l'atelier ludique et interactif avec le bédéiste canadien Alex A.
Cet atelier est destiné aux enfants de 5-11 ans et sera en anglais . Merci de préparer quelques crayons, ainsi que quelques feuilles de papier si vous voulez participer dans le processus créatif.
Cet événement est organisé dans le cadre du festival annuel de la Francophonie de Washington DC . Il est gratuit et ouvert à tous. Tous les inscrits recevront un lien de connexion quelques jours avant l'événement.
A propos du bédéiste
Alex A. Écrit et dessine depuis toujours. Très jeune, il invente le personnage de l’Agent Jean, lui crée des acolytes et s’amuse à plonger son anti héros sympathique dans des situations extravagantes. En 2011, après des études en arts plastiques, son rêve se concrétise: les aventures de son agent secret sont enfin publiées! Ses principales inspirations? Tout ce qui existe, mais surtout, tout ce qui n’existe pas!
Bédéiste prolifique, Alex A. a aujourd’hui trois séries et plus de vingt bandes dessinées à son actif, toutes créées sur une tablette graphique, grâce à laquelle il n’utilise plus du tout de papier! Il habite avec son chien, Ours, à Montréal. Dans ses temps libres, il aime se promener dans les bois, lire des bandes dessinées de superhéros et jouer à des jeux vidéo.
