The Bakersfield College Performing Arts Department has announced the details of their upcoming Combined Concert, featuring the Choirs, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Flute Choir, and BC/CSUB Orchestra on stage together. BC’s highly talented music students will perform the once-a-year concert, MC’d by Music Professor Dr. John Gerhold, on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 PM in the Bakersfield College Edward Simonsen Outdoor Theatre. Admission is free. Bakersfield College music students and faculty will bring together some of their award-winning ensembles to highlight this semester’s best works. The presentation will feature performances by the Chamber Singers, College Choir, Renegade Chorus, Bella Lux Treble Chorus, Flute Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the BC/CSUB Joint Orchestra. Pieces will include inspiring and uplifting choral music, iconic big band songs, rousing fanfares, and string orchestra classics.
Admission for the concert is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to park in lot P3 on the northeast side of campus. No outside food or drinks are allowed. A parking permit must be purchased in advance at BakersfieldCollege.edu.
