Presenting the 46th annual BC Interior Jazz Festival All-Star Concert! This years’ concert features the incredible Steve Kaldestad as the Featured Artist. Since moving to Vancouver in 2008, Steve Kaldestad has become one of the most in-demand saxophonists and guest clinicians on the West Coast scene. Steve is a member of the Jill Townsend Jazz Orchestra, the Dan Brubeck Quartet, and many other groups, as well as leading his own solo musical projects. Steve has released four albums on the Cellar Live label to great acclaim, including ”Straight Up”, featuring the Mike LeDonne Trio, “New York Afternoon” with the Renee Rosnes Trio, and his latest release, “Live at Frankie’s Jazz Club”.This concert will also include small group performances from the fantastic festival adjudicators: Emily Denison, Nicholas Dyson, Kim Kleineberg, Loni Moger, Bob Rogers, and Campbell Ryga. As some of Canada’s top jazz musicians, this line up will not disappoint! The ever-popular Festival Big Band will take the stage for the second half of the show, and will be directed by Artistic Director, musician and music educator, Craig Thomson. Prepare to get your toes tapping and energy pumping as see these incredibly skilled musicians rip it up on stage!
