On January 17th at 4:00 PM, the Boston Baltic Film Festival will host an exclusive screening of Latvian director Jānis Streičs’ classic comedy A Limousine the Color of Midsummer’s Eve (in Latvian, with English subtitles) - a beloved film known for its hilarious humor, unforgettable characters, and nostalgic charm. We all need a little midsummer's warmth and laughter in the middle of January! This festive evening will feature:
✨ Cuisine and refreshments from all three Baltic countries—Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia—highlighting traditional flavors and regional favorites.
🎷 Live jazz music performed by some amazing Baltic musicians & friends. Ilona Kudiņa (Latvia, flute), Mike Peipman (Estonia, trumpet), Jose Allende (Peru, guitar), Manuel Kaufman (Switzerland, bass), Alexis Geary (Estonia, Voice)
🎞️ A chance to enjoy one of Latvia’s most iconic films alongside our team, film lovers and members of the Baltic community.
🎧 Baltic records with DJ Pierre following the screening.
All proceeds from the event will support the continued growth of the Boston Baltic Film Festival and its mission to bring exceptional Baltic storytelling to New England audiences.
