Done this twice but without Hoggs. Self supported. Plenty of places to stop. 1hr lunch stop around noon. Will be riding city streets (sidewalks when possible) but street when not. Need to be comfortable on the street.
Pace will be 14-15mph on the road and whatever you can handle on the trails. I'll be on my SS 32:15.
This ride is all about fuel and hydration. First time, I got behind and cramped. Second time, I got ahead and got bloated. Third time is the charm!!

I recommend a high capacity back pack. I'll be riding with 3L pack and a bottle. Pack also has lots of pockets to store my fuel. I fuel this almost entirely on real food. Energy bars, fruit bars and save the Gu's and caffeine for when we drop into the trails.
I estimate about 14hrs total. Lots of places to cut short or bypass a trail system then meet back up after... been there. No shame.
While we will do our best to stay together, we have to hold a certain pace to finish. If you blow up or cramp up, you may be on your own. Good to have a friend you can call to sag or Uber. You need to be able to take care of yourself and get yourself home.
