Acoustic East Coast was created over the summer of 2025 and premiered in the beautiful acoustics of historic St. Mary’s church during the Under the Spire Music Festival. The performance features instrumental versions of favourite East Coast Canadian songs, interspersed with stories and anecdotes about how and why those songs were created. Curated by Natalie Williams Calhoun, performed by PEI’s own Bayfield String Quartet and narrated by Cameron MacDuffee, expect to experience some of your favourite songs in a whole new way! The program will include music by Lennie Gallant, Rita McNeil, The Rankin Family, Classified, Gene MacLellan, Hey Rosetta! and more, all performed by string quartet (plus some additional instrumentation) and reimagined as instrumentals.
