Bavarian knitting, originating from the Bavarian Alps comprises of traveling cables against twisted stitches. The twisted stitches create clean and well-defined stitch while the traveling cables have a nice design element and are 2 stitch cables that don’t require a cable needle. The pattern appearance and charts seem complicated yet once you understand the chart symbols, it becomes easy to follow and addicting! It’s a classic design that looks great on men, women and children.
We’ll practice a 2-color cast on, reading a Bavarian chart, working cables without a cable needle along with the 4 basic Bavarian cable stitches.
