Batu’s musical journey began at age six in a children’s choir. At 14, a pivotal moment occurred when he and his best friend started taking guitar lessons, setting the stage for his future career. By 23, he founded the hard rock band Heavy Sky, releasing their debut album, Dreamer, in 2016 on CD and vinyl. The album garnered significant attention, particularly on UK rock radio stations, while his collaboration on cover videos with renowned guitarist Karl Golden achieved millions of views worldwide. That same year, Batu and his bandmates played a sold-out show in Paris, cementing their reputation as rising stars in the rock scene.
In October 2024, Batu collaborated with legendary drummer Simon Kirke of Free and Bad Company to release the single "The Reason," showcasing a seamless blend of his modern rock sensibilities with Kirke’s classic rock influence. Building on this successful partnership, Batu is set to release another track with Kirke, "You Got Me Going," which will be launched internationally later this year, further expanding his global reach.
Renowned for his electrifying live performances, Batu has often been praised for a stage presence that surpasses even his studio recordings.
