🚣‍♂️💦 BATTLESHIP CANOES 💦🚣‍♀️Sink or be sunk.Think Battleship the board game… but with real canoes, buckets, and squirt guns. That’s right—we’re strapping you and two of your bravest friends into a canoe, arming you with questionable weapons (a bucket, a squirt gun, and only two paddles for three people), and sending you into glorious, splashy chaos.
🎯 The Mission: (should you choose to accept it)
Sign up your team of 3 (your team mates can be sorted out later, just sign up)
With: 1 canoe, 2 paddles, 1 bucket, and 1 squirt gun.
Last canoe floating wins. 🏆
🛶 The Format:
Bracket-style, single elimination (unless we get a couple more canoes donated—then we’ll go double elimination because why not).
We might even toss in a three-way battle if we get another canoe, just to speed things up and spice things up.
Limited to 8 teams only (for now). If too many people sign up and we raise enough in donations, we’ll buy a used canoe and expand to 12–16 teams. Also if this is a hit we may do an impromptu less formal Battleship Canoes the following Saturday. Also this likely will happen once per month next summer with Ignite or possible sprout into a summer league based on feedback.
⚔️ The Rules (sort of):
No touching other teams with your body, paddles, or buckets—canoe-to-canoe combat only.
If a round drags to 10 minutes, the ref will yell “GO WILD” and then tipping canoes becomes fair game.
If you fall out, you’re out for the round. Sorry, them’s the rules.
Rounds max out at 15 minutes—whoever’s still floating or "floating the most" wins.
Teams must dump their canoe water after use (don’t worry, plenty of muscle around to help).
🎉 The Vibe:Even if you don’t want to battle, COME ANYWAY. It’s a beach day for everyone—frisbees, footballs, maybe corn hole (if someone brings it), snacks, laughter, and general chaos.
💸 Cost:Pay-what-you-can donation. $0 if that’s what works, or toss in more to help us raise funds for Ignite.
🍔 Food:If we raise enough ahead of time, we’ll have food at the beach.
🏆 Prizes:The champions take home glory, bragging rights, and a legendary First Place Trophy Paddle Made By Addy!
