Artsemble Underground is proud to announce a new evolution of our unique Battle of the Arts events; this time creating a special Mural Edition format that will help to build new teams for the upcoming MuralFest 2025 project. We invite artists from all over Southwest Florida to apply to be a part of this event and undertake the challenge of creating a 4ft x 8ft “mini-mural” on site during the Battle of the Arts event. The winners of these Battles have the opportunity to become team captains or team members on MuralFest wall projects in the Spring of 2025.Join us for the first Battle of the Arts and MuralFest fundraiser of the season on the Alliance for the Arts Campus on October 9th!

**Important Note to Artists:
There will be TWO Battle of the Arts events this season, the first of which takes place on Wednesday October 9th at the Alliance for the Arts campus. The window for artists to create their “mini-mural” runs from 10am to 6pm. Judging will take place later in the evening during the MuralFest Fundraiser event.
The second event will take place on Saturday January 11th at the All-Out Bail Bonds building off of MLK in downtown Fort Myers. The same rules apply to both events.
Artsemble will be providing 4ft x 8ft boards for each artist/team competing at these events. The challenge: complete a mini-mural on site within the time frame for the event (10am – 6pm) and present your finished work that evening for judging. The winners of these events will go on to become MuralFest 2025 mural artists. The objective is to show us your ability to efficiently and skillfully create a large-scale work of art. Considering the scale of the project, we encourage artists to work in pairs! Individuals can work alone but will still need to complete the work within the same timeframe.
There is no theme; artists can use any subject/style/materials they choose. The board will be primed, installed and ready to paint in advance. Artists must bring their own painting materials. All of the completed artworks will be displayed on site for an extended period of time to help promote the participating artists as well as the MuralFest event. There are also possible vendor opportunities available to participating artists.
In order to be considered as a team captain/member in MuralFest 2025, you will need to participate in one of these two events. Artsemble will confirm Battle dates with the applying artists in advance.
Failure to attend and participate in a Battle of the Arts event will forfeit your application to participate in MuralFest 2025 as a mural artist. So be sure to plan ahead!
