Did you know that a single Illinois bat can eat up to 3,000 insects each night? Join us to learn more about these ecologically important mammals and what recent studies have shown about local bats. After a presentation indoors at the museum, we will walk to the Covered Bridge to look for the bats that roost there. Representatives from the Illinois Bat Conservation Program (more info: https://www.illinoisbats.org/) will be on hand with special technology to detect and identify bats by their calls. FREE. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. For more info: (217) 896-2455 or Morgan at [email protected]
