The traditional art of Batik making, represents culture and local customs, and uses age-old techniques combined with hot beeswax and local fabric dyes. The process is lengthy and labour intensive.
In this workshop you'll explore contemporary methods inspired by the time-honoured process of traditional Batik making. Gaye will guide you through the process of watercolour Batik, using melted wax and watercolours to create distinctive paintings on paper. Learn the basic principles of wax resist techniques combined with watercolour painting in a process that is quicker, easier and more manageable.
