Batik Workshop: Introduction
Join us for a meditative, hands-on session to learn about the art of batik. This introductory level workshop will walk you through the basics of how to use a canting, a traditional pen-like tool used to designing batik tulis or "handwritten" batik. You'll also learn about specific batik patterns and the history of how fabric can be used as a form of storytelling.
- 90 minutes class
- 1 snack break to process and connect
Please note: We will provide practice fabrics during the workshop. However, there will be no dyeing process involved and you will not be able to take home a finished dyed piece. Additionally, there is an optional indigo dyed batik bandana available for an extra $20.
Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the Indonesian batik cultural heritage through this hands-on workshop. See you there!
