Bathurst Archery Festival
Outdoor Target Event - 2 November 2024
The Bathurst Archery Festival Outdoor Target Event is held on Sunday, 2 November 2025 (day 2 of the Festival).
A Field course event will be held on Saturday, 1 November 2025 (day 1 of the Festival). Registered archers can shoot one or both days.
Archers must register via Eventbrite for each day they plan to shoot separately. You cannot register for both days at the same time.
On the day of the shoot if an archer has not pre-registered via Eventbrite they may not be able to shoot. Places for archers who have not registered via Eventbrite are subject to availability on the day. We strongly suggest that you register before the day of the shoot to ensure your place.
We require certain information for every archer taking part. You must provide us with the following information for every archer:
- age
- bow type
- Archery Australia (AA) number
- Club
- Other affiliation e.g.: Traditional Archery Australia
Online Registrations via Eventbrite will close Friday, 31 October 2025 at 5 pm.
Spectators (friends and family who are not shooting) are free and welcome.
Divisions
Archers may participate in men's, women's, and age divisions.
The bow types that archers can shoot are:
- Recurve (barebow or sighted)
- Compound (barebow or sighted)
- Asiatic Bows
- Traditional and Traditional (Carbon)
Times
Gates open at 8.30 am each day.
All participants on the Outdoor Target Shoot will need to arrive, sign in at reception, and pay their shooting fee for the day by 9.45 am.
Morning warm up will be held from 9.30 to 9.45 am. A space for warm up will be available at other times throughout the day.
Archers will all start at the same time, at 10 am.
Scoring and about the Outdoor Target Shoot
The shoot will be a 720 (72 arrows per archer) at a fixed distance of 20m, 30m or 40m.
6 arrows per end.
Archers will be assigned a target based on bow type and distance as follows:
- Compound and Recurve (sighted) will be at 40m.
- Recurve (barebow) and Longbow will be at 30m.
- Note - if there are young archers, a fixed distance may be allocated at 20m or 30m, subject to age, experience and registrations, will be confirmed on the weekend of the Festival.
Paper score sheets will be available, and the shoot will be in Archer's Diary if archers wish to record their score.
Archers that are registered with Archery Australia will be able to set themselves up on Archer’s Diary.
Fees
All fees will need to be paid at reception when signing in (cash or card):
- $15 per day for members of Bathurst Archers, included sausage sizzle (or vegetarian option) lunch and a drink (water or soft drink)
- $25 per day for members of other archery clubs, includes sausage sizzle (or vegetarian option) lunch and a drink (water or soft drink)
Please note: Children under the age of 12 will require the supervision of an adult archer / parent or guardian
