About this Event
Bath hosted its first-ever Refugee Festival in June 2025, bringing together over 400 people for a day of music, food, stories and community at Fairfield House. Refugee families from Ukraine, Sudan, Afghanistan, Syria, Ethiopia, Palestine and beyond took part – many attending for free through a dedicated ticket fund.
In 2026, we want to build on this foundation and create an even more inclusive, co-created festival – and we’d love you to be part of the planning.
This meeting is for:
- Refugees and people with lived experience of displacement
- Local organisations and charities
- Artists, workshop leaders and cultural practitioners
- Volunteers and community members
- Anyone interested in supporting Bath Refugee Festival 2026
What we’ll do in the meeting
- Reflect on 2025:
- What worked well?
- What could be improved?
- Who did we reach, and who did we miss?
- Explore ideas for 2026:
- Theme and focus (aligned with Refugee Week 2026)
- Shape of the festival – one big day, a series of smaller events, or a mix
- Activities: performances, workshops, talks, family events, food, exhibitions
- Look at roles and partnerships:
- How individuals, groups and organisations can get involved
- Working groups (e.g. programme, outreach, volunteers, fundraising)
- Ways to centre refugee voices and leadership
