About this Event
Be a Drummer for a Day is a yearly community outreach and funding event open to all! This year's donations benefit the Personal Care Foundation, and 100% of your tax-deductible donations go to them.
a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is an all-women percussion band whose mission is to empower women through drumming and expose communities to Brazil’s dynamic music and culture.
is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing survivors of domestic violence in Montgomery County, MD the products they require to maintain hygiene and personal health. We all deserve to live healthy lives with dignity.
Event activities:
- Batalá performance and history of the music
- Batalá drumming workshops
- Afro Bahian dance lesson with Água Doce (Sonia Pesoa)
Bring:

- donation for our partners (5$ suggested donation or/and suggested items)
We will have easy to scan venmo/paypal codes on site so you will be able to make a donation during the event. In addition to or in lieu of the minimum donation, the PCF accepts the following items (new, unopened, unexpired): Toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, handsoap, bodywash, deodorant, razors, shaving supplies, sanitary napkins, tampons, pantyliners, and disinfecting wipes.
