We're celebrating the City Nature Challenge!Join us for a walk around the park looking and listening for signs of bats. We'll use bat detectors to find and identify the nocturnal mammal.
Please note that bats are not guaranteed! We have seen a decline in the bat population in the park over recent years so it can take some time to track down their location each evening.
This event is aimed at adults and older children 8+ (with their parent/carer).
The event lasts approx 1 hour. Note that the session will only take place if the weather is dry. If it is wet, we'll offer another date (most likely the following day)

The City Nature Challenge is an annual challenge to motivate people around the world to find and document wildlife in their own cities. The CNC is an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities are in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal. This competition uses the iNaturalist app on your phone or computer to record biodiversity data using photos or sounds, and share it with a world-wide community of scientists and nature enthusiasts!
