Join our Coalface to Wildspace, Midlands team for an amazing, free Bat Walk and Talk led by Phillip Playford from the Staffordshire Bat Group at Swannies Field on Thursday the 30th of October at 5:00pm.We will start our walk from the spectacular Speaking Sculpture in Swannies Field and proceed to explore the park looking for bats using bat detectors. The walk is expected to last 1 to 1.5 hours, but you can join for as long or as little as you like. We recommend that you bring your own torch and wear sturdy footwear for walking around the park.
We will be meeting at the Harden Road entrance to the park near the zebra crossing- WS3 1RQ. Street parking can be found nearby.
This Bat Walk and Talk is entirely free to attend and open to everyone, though donations are welcome. Please sign up for your space here: tinyurl.com/batwalk3
This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled if it rains, as the chances of seeing bats will be much lower.
This event forms part of the Speaking Sculptures Celebration Festival series of activities to celebrate nature and wildlife. The sculptures have been created by local people and installed in 8 greenspaces across Walsall as part of the Coalface to Wildspace Midlands project, made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
