Hey Wargamers! We will be hosting a charity event on Tuesday the 16th of December starting at 12:30pm for Warhammer 40k: 'Twas the Fight before Christmas!
This event is by donation. Give what you can spare. 100% of the proceeds will go to Chilliwack Community Services to support families in need during this holiday season!
If wargaming isn't your cup of hot chocolate, we will also be running a charity Magic the Gathering event: Jingle Spells. Stay tuned for that!
For this event, players will participate in 4 rounds with one of two 1000 point lists. Players may bring 2 lists, and choose one of them once paired against an opponent in each round. Lists cannot be changed once the event starts. Please bring two physical lists, and have a staff member initial them to lock them in!
Players will battle it out against different opponents in the first three 2 hour rounds (aim to be done in 1 hr 45 minutes, and we will have a 15 min grace period between rounds). The two players with the highest combined Victory points across all three rounds will battle it out for prizes at the final table!
Prizes will be donated by Bastion Games:
1st place: $100 kit, or $100 towards a kit of your choice
2nd place: $50 kit, or $50 towards a kit of your choice

I will leave you with this:
’Twas the Fight Before Christmas
’Twas the fight before Christmas, when all through the base,
Not a creature was stirring—’cept the Orks in deep space.
The stockings were nailed to the bulkheads with care,
In hopes that the Emperor soon would be there.
The scouts were all nestled, concealed in their beds,
While visions of bolt–rounds danced in their heads.
And the Captain in helm, and I with my mace,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s brace.
When out on the ramparts there rose such a clatter,
I sprang with my chainsword to see what was the matter.
Away to the viewport I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and readied to clash.
The moons on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave a luster of midday to objects below;
When what to my battle-scarred eyes should appear,
But a daemon-clad sleigh pulled by nightmares and fear.
With a driver so twisted, his laughter insane,
I knew in a moment it must be—no, not again…
More rapid than warp storms his horrors they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
“Now Bloodclaws! Now Skullgrin! Now Frostbite and Vixen!
On Gorehoof! On Riptusk! On Slaughter and Blitzen!
To the top of the fortress! To the breach in the wall!
Slay away! Slay away! Slay away all!”
As snowmen possessed by some warp-spawned delight
Charged forward with carrot-nose fury and might;
So up to the stronghold the monsters they flew,
With a sleigh full of presents—and the Chaos Lord too.
And then, with a shrieking I heard on the roof,
The stomping and pawing of each armored hoof.
As I charged down the stairwell and turned with a spin,
Down the chimney that madman Santa came in.
He was dressed all in crimson from helmet to boot,
And his armor was tarnished with ash, blood, and soot.
A bundle of skulls he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a war-peddler opening his pack.
His eyes—how they glowed! With warp-ridden cheer!
His smile was wicked and far too sincere.
His beard was like barbed wire, jagged and black,
And gifts on his belt looked suspiciously packed.
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
Left runes on the floor—then turned with a smirk.
And raising a finger, he vanished from sight,
As explosions lit snowflakes like stars in the night.
He sprang to his sleigh as the battlefield roared,
And away they all flew—by corruption restored.
But I heard him exclaim, ’fore he slipped from existence:
“Merry Christmas to all—
AND DEATH TO RESISTANCE!”
