How.Have.
We.
Not.
Done.
This.
Before.
For this month's session (which is a week later than usual, note!) bring... ah, you know. Swords. Tricorns. West Country Accents. Rum. Sodomy. The Lash.
(Also, Suke and Noah: bring a copy of 'Pirate Enlightenment' by David Graeber, which I eventually got around to reading on your recommendations at the Weston Library flashmob event – it's great!)
The choice for this session is partly because it's such an obvious fit for the BES. But it's also a whisper in the air: about how we don't own media anymore, but just license it from giant tech companies that might take it all away on a whim. About how "you will own nothing, and you will be happy". About how now might be time to, once again, 'sail the stormy seas'.
About how if buying isn't owning then piracy isn't stealing.
Drink up, me hearties, yo ho.
