A brand new night emerges from Brighton's grassroots poetry and music scene. Notorious festival poet Bassie Gracie brings you some of her favourite performers, musicians and poets for a night of unmatched revellery.
Mixing smokey jazzy acoustic goodness with beautiful words, funny words and probably some rude words.
A sit down and swill your neat whiskey kind of affair. A put your hand to your chin and say 'hmmmm' kind of affair. Finally, you are both interesting and cultured, congratulations, I didn't see it coming either.
DJANGO CHUTNEY
Three impeccable jazz musicians come together to rework classic songs, sing beautiful harmonies and make funny faces at strange times. I watched this band 5 times at Glastonbury last year even though every single other band in the world was playing, and I REGRET NOTHING.
SCALLYWAGS LOUNGE SET
Duncan has written approximately 300 funny, catchy and beautiful songs. Usually you can see the band playing high energy party music where people jump up and down and say 'yeah'. Tonight they are going to be playing their lounge set, a chance to play some of their sweeter songs. It's gentle, it's soft, it has the word c**t in it.
ULTIMATE TIGERFROG
Two of Brightons creative sensations come together to put improv spoken word over harp music. Spell binding, fantastical, subperb. How can Reanna be so cool? How can Esme be so effortless? Why can't I stop crying?
JOE BUNN
Joe Bunn is weird and deep and a complete enimga. I frankly do not know what he is going to say next. It could be a soul shattering poem where his words will still echo in your head years later or it could be a song about wotsits that he made up on the bus. Either way, it's completely brilliant.
LEANNE SHORELY
Leanne has become a fixture in the Brighton poetry scene, from flitting about open mics to running the prestigous Hammer and Tongue slam, as well as coordinating initiaves to help women feel safer in music venues. An absolute asset to Brighton's creative scene, she writes from her own experiences with deeply relatable, honest and often hilarious poetry.

There are 5 x 5 minute poetry open mic slots. They are first come first served, sign up on the night. I will give you back your tenner in cash and buy you a drink.
