About this Event
In this three-hour workshop you will weave three different stars and snowflakes using natural or dyed reed in a variety of color choices, then secure them with waxed linen thread. Each will be finished with a ribbon hanger. Make them for yourself or as a gift.
About the instructor:
Making things out of fibers has been Kimberley Harding’s passion since she was a child. Until being introduced to basketry by Jackie Abrams and Lois Russell in 2015 and 2016, she primarily worked with textile materials. She joined the Northeast Basketmakers Guild in 2016 and has increased her basketry knowledge from the many wonderful teachers at the annual Gathering, as well as at other basketry events. Now as a sculptural artist she works with a wide variety of materials, though rooted in textile and basketry techniques. She has shown her work throughout the US and recently had a solo show at Maine Audubon in Falmouth. She resides in Portland.
