Nestled between the Selkirk and Monashee mountains, surrounded by natural hot springs and the sandy beaches of Arrow Lake, Nakusp is ready to host the 6th annual Basin Food Summit & Buyer Expo (FABx24). This fall, our food industry summit will embrace the theme of mycelial networking, highlighting the interconnectedness of our vibrant Columbia Basin food community. Expect mushrooms to cap-tivate many event details.
Over two days, we'll feature industry-only presentations, session networking, and of course, celebrating the most delicious local food.
This will be followed by the Basin Food and Mushroom Marketplace on October 26, complete with food trucks, music, and speakers presenting on ethical harvesting, wildcrafting, and all things mushrooms: cultivating, harvesting, medicine making, eating, and foraging. This year's market will also feature vendors inspired by and working with mushrooms beyond just food.
Amid all this, there will be plenty of time to reconnect with your Basin food friends, soak in the mineral-rich hot springs, tour local farms, vineyards, and orchards, and enjoy a unique mushroom musical performance and an exceptional farm-to-table dining experience featuring Chef Tyler Leeson of Bella Soriah in Nakusp and Chanterelle Restaurant and Bar at Halcyon Hot Springs Resort.
