The Basic Telecommunicator Licensing Course (BTLC) is required by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for all Telecommunicators within one year of employment.Class will be held at the West Dallas Center (3330 N. Hampton Rd. in Dallas) 8am-5pm Mon-Friday from Mon, Nov 11, 2024 Thurs, - Wed, Nov 27, 2024. Course cost is $320. There will be a state licensing exam on Monday, Dec 2, 2024, at 9am at the Cedar Valley Campus. There is no additional cost for our students to take the Licensing Exam.

Agency sponsorships are allowed, but not required. If you are currently employed by an agency, you would need to have your agency complete a DOLCEE form to prove eligibility, in lieu of the normal paperwork that students submit to attend a TCOLE course: https://www.tcole.texas.gov/.../ATP%2015.003...
Note: we do not guarantee job placement at the end of the certificate course.
Veterans should check with the VA office on any of our campuses to check your VA benefits and determine if you qualify for benefits for this course. Academy staff is unable to access that database to answer any questions.
All other applicants are encourage to complete the FAFSA.gov application for 2024-2025 to see if you qualify for Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) through Financial Aid.
