Each student will create a still-life incorporating a small size object (like a favorite cup, small jewelry box, cigar box, pitcher, etc.) and a piece of fabric you choose from your own home. A variety of other objects and fruits will be provided to complete the set-up.
Using a “one light source method” to create shadow and light, you will use your cell phone to photograph your still-life arrangement, then learn how to paint the image on canvas applying a palette of basic colors.
In the process, you will learn how to draw with paint using basic perspective and design balance, learn basics about brushes and how to mix primary and secondary colors. This class will give you the basic helpful techniques to start you on your way to painting with acrylics. Students will each take home a very personal painting.
Paint, brushes and easels will be supplied.
