Join local Ludington artist Michelle Patterson for a fascinating two-part journey into the basics of sustainable natural dyeing. In this focused workshop, you will learn a unique method of pattern creation using a soy milk resist. Students will use a specialized soy milk base to paint invisible patterns directly onto fabric.Once the patterns have dried, the fabric will be submerged in a black tea dye pot. The areas treated with soy milk will resist the dye, causing your hidden patterns to magically appear! Michelle specializes in connecting creativity with nature, teaching students how to create beauty while being kind to the earth.
This two-part workshop takes place on February 7th & February 14th from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Registration is $30 for LACA members and $40 for non-members. Register online at ludingtonartscenter.org or call 231-845-2787.
