Welcome to the world of Marine Electrical! This class is designed for any recreational boat owner wanting to gain a basic knowledge of 12v and 120v electrical systems found onboard their boats! In this class we will discuss the design, function and basic diagnostics of common systems found onboard most vessels.Electrical can seem overwhelming and confusing, so during this class, we will learn how 12v and 120v electricity works, how to safely design and build a simple circuit, and the basics around using the most common tools. Class will include some live examples and students will walk away understanding what they are looking at when tackling onboard electrical jobs!
Instructed by Meredith Anderson, a USCG-licensed marine engineer, advanced diesel instructor at Seattle Maritime Academy, and regular columnist for 48° North magazine. Her experience as a mechanic is varied and extensive. She has developed a sizable following for her engineering abilities, while simultaneously providing educational opportunities for clients.
