BLS Provider for HCP
McMaster Children's Hospital is pleased to offer this course On-Site for healthcare providers by our team of medical professionals, through our Simulation and Outreach Program.
The BLS Provider course, is fully accredited by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Course Overview
The BLS Provider course is a complete in-person experience where you will learn through lectures, video segments, practice and coaching, guided by a Heart & Stroke instructor. Receive ample opportunity to apply your skills and receive feedback before the evaluation. You will learn single- and multi-rescuer basic life support skills with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics in a wide variety of settings, including prehospital and in-facility settings.
BLS is a prerequisite for advanced resuscitation courses and many healthcare-related training programs. Current certification is often required for employment in the healthcare field.
The BLS Provider course is ideal for healthcare professionals and trained first responders as well those who are new to BLS or do not frequently use their resuscitation skills.
Course Prerequisites
Full vaccination against SARS-CoV-2. Full vaccination is considered to be 2 or 3 doses of a Health Canada approved SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, with the second dose administered at least 14 days before your course date. Paper or electronic documentation will be required upon check-in

Cancellation Policy
Please note that the following Cancellation Policy applies to this course:
• Requests to withdraw from a course (cancel registration) can only be completed through the Eventbrite registration system. Please go to www.eventbrite.ca/mytickets to manage your registration.
• Refunds will be made according to the date of the request based on the following timelines:
More than 3 weeks before the start of the course = 100% refund
Between 2-3 weeks before the start of the course = 75% refund
Less than 2 weeks, but more than 1 week before the start of the course = 50% refund
1 week or less before the start of the course = No refund
• If you are unable to attend the course, a friend or colleague can be substituted in your place at no additional charge.
• To transfer to an alternate course date, you must withdraw from the course that you originally registered for and complete the registration process for the course date that you want to attend. Course withdrawal conditions listed above apply.
• No refunds will be issued for withdrawals requested 1 week or less prior to a course. No refunds will be given for “no shows”.
