Discover the Art of Analogue Photography: A Hands-On Darkroom Class
Explore the magic of black-and-white photography in this 6-week workshop designed for both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts! Held on Tuesdays from 6–8:30 PM, this class will guide you through the entire darkroom process—from shooting film to developing negatives and creating stunning positive prints.
During this immersive experience, you will:
- Learn to load and process black-and-white film on reels.
- Master the techniques for creating properly exposed negatives using a film camera.
- Use an enlarger to produce beautiful prints from your negatives.
- Troubleshoot common darkroom challenges.
- Understand how to care for and store your film and prints to preserve them for years to come.

- Who can come: This is a beginner-level workshop, but all levels of experience are welcome.
- What you should bring to the first class: Just yourself and your enthusiasm. Your instructor will provide all equipment and consumable materials for this workshop : handouts, photography chemicals, black and white photo paper, negative sleeves and print finishing materials.
- About safety: The darkroom is a safe space but participants should know we will be working with chemicals and that some with sensory sensitivities could be affected by chemical smells, darkness, and enclosed spaces. Gloves can be used if desired. We will discuss basic chemistry safety and proper disposal of darkroom chemicals.
