BASEQ Monthly Blues Jam, Sunday 30th MarchA lot of people were sorry they missed our first jam of 2025, this one will be fantastic too. Host band will be Slow Cooker, with Carolyn Higgs on vocals and bass and featuring Kevin Haig on guitar, their blend of Blues, RnB and Soul will have everybody dancing.
The event is a Blues Jam rather than an open mic.
Musicians / Vocalists can register with the MC from 12.30pm and the MC will put 6 or 7 bands together from the musician that have registered. Each set of musicians get a 15-minute slot.
One established, featured band spot is normally available, best to pre book with the President, to avoid disappointment. Featured band for the March Jam is Drive Through Voodoo.
The Jam is tailored more to individuals than bands that want to play a short set.
Backline and drum kit supplied.
The MC does not have an easy role and although there is some room for flexibility the MCs decision is final and people attending the jam need to treat the MC, BASEQ committee members and staff of the Royal Mail with courtesy and respect.
Host band kick off at 1 pm for their first set, so be early and grab a seat, a drink or two and a bite from the kitchen.
Jammers start at 1.45pm. Host band, will finish off the day with another set from around 4:15.
