--- In the vicinity of Pavilion 4 ---The Brandon Amateur Radio Society (BARS) will hold its annual Field Day event on 22 June at 2:00 pm at Davis Park in Brandon, and the public is invited to come out to share in the experience. Field Day is held annually in the US and Canada, and is sponsored by the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) and Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC). During Field Day, thousands of amateur radio operators set up temporary radio stations in public locations to demonstrate amateur radio's science, skill, and service to the community. There will be several stations set up for the BARS event, including a Get-On-The-Air (GOTA) station. The GOTA station will provide members of the public a chance to experience firsthand the excitement of making contact with other amateur stations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
