The Barrie Dragon Boat Festival is returning this August to the waters of Kempenfelt Bay! Proudly hosted by the Barrie Public Library and presented by Tim Hortons, this will be the festival's 21st year - over two decades of community spirit, competitive paddling, and raising funds for local charities.
This year’s festival has 40 teams and over 200 paddlers competing for a variety of challenge cups. Join us at Heritage Park starting at 7 am for an exciting day of races!
In addition to the races, spectators are welcome to take to the event grounds for beverages and fun family-friendly activities:
☕ Enjoy a complimentary hot or cold beverage provided by Tim Hortons! Drinks are complimentary, with the option of a donation to our Future Branches campaign, where all proceeds raised will help support the Barrie Public Library’s plan for future locations throughout the city.
☀️ Visit the ‘BPL Discovery Area’ from 9 am – 2pm to participate in family-friendly crafts and activities. Library staff and volunteers will be onsite and ready to provide helpful information about our Summer Reading Club as well as upcoming programs at your local library location!
🎒 Pack your water bottle to use at our refill station and feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy in the city’s beautiful Heritage Park. More fantastic local restaurants and businesses are just steps away!
We can't wait to see you on August 16th at the 21st Annual Barrie Dragon Boat Festival!
